My Final Year at Architecture School
The year started off in the usual manner… Completely hectic with a study trip in the first week back which I really was looking forward too.
We went to a place called Orfordness in east Sussex an ex military base where the British were testing nuclear weapons in the 1950’s. It was absolutely an amazing trip, which totally inspired me. Everything I saw on the island felt as if I was in a documentary. I took many photographs that I may use for exhibition one day.
This project was the first exploratory for the year. It lasted around 4/5 weeks and resulted in two A1 sheets hand drawn. This was done in groups of two and I worked with Jay Rajpra, which did work well as we both had different specialism’s.
Turned out our tutor Steve Farrar did not appreciate most people’s efforts and we had to do another exploratory project titled Sanctuary.
Sanctuary
This project was to create a response to the word sanctuary and hat it means to us. This was a individual project which I created a maze of folded core-ten steel which one may find a unique space to contemplate and think about the day or even simply have there lunch in their break.
Nice simple project which over ran to around 6 weeks and is still not completed to Steve’s standards as most people failed the project I got a high 2:2 which I admit still needs work.
Berlin
Another amazing study trip to a fantastic city full of culture. This was part of the new project called Embassy. I rented an apartment in Krutzburg with Hannah which was fun. I found the boys a fantastic condo apartment which totally kicked ass and its where i had my Birthday Party.
Embassy started less than a week ago properly and is a really complicated project which I don’t fully understand just yet…
Still Getting to Grips with it and learning software to enable me to get killer renders!
